Multilevel subtotals are in wrong position
There is a known issue in MS Excel 2002 and 2003 with regards to multilevel sub-totals, which effects Integra's sorting and grouping functionality which is based on the Excel subtotals feature. For further details from Microsoft about this issue see the following:
Unlike what is stated in the article (see extract below), the issue is not entirely fixed. When inserting the summary (sub-totals) below the data it works fine, however, if selecting the option to group above the data, the issue persists. To our knowledge no proper fix has been provided yet by Microsoft.

SYMPTOMS
When you create multilevel subtotals for data in Microsoft Excel 2002 or Microsoft Office Excel 2003, and you set the subtotals to appear in the rows that are immediately above the data that they are based on, the totals appear in the incorrect order (staggered incorrectly) and may exclude extra Grand Totals values.
RESOLUTION
Excel 2002
This issue is fixed in the Excel 2002 post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix Package that is dated November 13, 2003. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

This fix is enabled by default when you install the hotfix.
Excel 2003
This fix is included in Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
The fix is enabled by default when you install the update. However, it may cause incorrect ordering of subtotals when the following conditions are true:
| • | The summary appears below the detail data. |
| • | One or more subtotal breaks contain only a single item. |
Follow these steps to disable this hotfix and to resolve this issue by reverting to the subtotal functionality of Excel 97 and Excel 2000:
| 1. | Quit all Microsoft Office programs. |
| 2. | Click Start, and then click Run. |
| 3. | In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK. |
| 4. | Locate and then click to select the following registry key:
Excel 2002 - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Options
Excel 2003 - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options |
| 5. | After you select the key that is specified in step 4, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD value. |
| 6. | Type Excel97Subtotals, and then press ENTER. |
| 7. | Right-click Excel97Subtotals, and then click Modify. |
| 8. | In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. |
| 9. | On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor. |
Note If there is a current worksheet that contains subtotals, the subtotals must be deleted and recreated in order for the fix to take a effect.
