Integra profiles run manually but not when scheduled

Integra for Notes allows profiles to be run in a scheduled manner, however a number of things need to be set right for scheduled profiles to run properly. See Running Scheduled Integra profiles FAQ.

When trouble shooting the running of scheduled Integra profiles, users sometimes state that the profile is running when the agent is run manually but not when scheduled. This document outlines the reasons behind this.

Agents in Notes are able to run either on the client workstation or on the server. In the case of an agent set to run on a workstation, this can allow the use of UI functionality which results in some form of display on the screen. This could be a dialog box, a message box, a progress bar r a request for information such as an e-mail address or reporting date etc.

However, in the case of an agent set to run on the server, since no user would be present to respond to such UI functionality, Notes does not allow UI functions to be contained within server based agents. This is a limitation (an understandable one) of Lotus Notes not Integra and Notes developers (even experienced ones) frequently find themselves in a situation where they include such UI functionality into server based agents which then fail to work.

Of course, schedule agents in Integra are run as server based agents and therefore no UI functionality can be contained in them. For instance, you could not have a scheduled agent which is set to Send To a mail address, where the mail address is not specified as Integra would attempt to pop-up the mail Address dialog box to the user to request the mail address. In addition, you could not set an scheduled Integra profile to have an Word action or Excel action set to Activate as there would not be anyone to activate the Word or Excel session to.

UI code could also be being attempted to be run from the LotusScript or Formula CallBack in the Adavnaced tab of the Integra profile. This too would be incorrect.

Please make sure that no UI features are being used in your Integra profile.

Another potential problem is that the agents involved in the running of scheduled profiles have not been signed. See the following FAQ to explain this situation: Scheduled Integra profiles result in no output
