Gunn JCB is one of the biggest JCB dealerships in the world. JCB are Europe's number one manufacturer of construction equipment producing about 30,000 units from their 9 factories - 6 in the UK and 1 each in USA, India and Brazil and shipping to more than 150 countries.
Founded 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford and still owned by the Bamford family, JCB is still growing quickly and now makes 150 models in nine product groups which are sold into the construction, agricultural and industrial markets.
Representing such a dynamic company as JCB requires good people and good systems. In order to prepare quotations and other customer related documents quickly and easily from our Lotus Notes based CRM system we chose Integra for Notes for a number of reasons including:-
- Ease of use – Microsoft Word and Excel are very powerful and flexible and our staff already know how to use them. The operation of Integra is completely transparent to the users and simple for the administrators to modify.
- Flexibility - With 13 product launches last year alone and many specification changes Integra allows us to keep our quotation library up to date and lets us easily modify particular instances to reflect the customer’s choice of optional equipment.
- Data Availability – Our organisation is geographically dispersed (8 depots across hundreds of square miles) many of our salesmen, sales managers and service engineers are field based only syncing their laptops from home each day. As the quotations and letters are automatically filed back into our Notes CRM system everyone can see all the correspondence we have had with the customers.
- Security – Being able to control who can modify the templates helps maintain accuracy and keeps control of our brand image and presentation. The extensive code control also allows us to maintain the security / readership / authorship settings from our CRM package.
Gunn JCB and several other JCB dealerships have used Frontline Consultancy, an Integra Business Partner based in Manchester, England to maintain and develop our integrated AS400, Lotus Notes and PC based systems for many years.
