How fast are Integra Exports?

How fast is your Pentium D processor really when you have all sorts of software installed? Of course, everyone knows that we cannot be specific about how fast Integra exports are in your environment, but we thought we would give you some metrics to guide your planning and evaluation.

We created a Notes database which contained 8,000 Notes documents each containing 20 fields and we created an Excel export profile in the Integra for Notes database to generate an Excel spreadsheet containing each of the 20 fields.

We ran the tests on the following workstation & server configurations:

Workstations: Intel Pentium 4, 1.6 GHz or higher, 512 MB RAM or higher, Windows XP, Notes 6.5 and 7
Server: Intel Pentium 4, 2.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Windows Server 2003, Domino 7

Test 1:

All 8000 documents exported using following options:

- All documents in view
- Sorting for the first 2 columns and grouping for the first column.
- Normal export
- No attached template (Quick Reports)

8000 documents with 20 fields into Excel:
max. 3 minutes 20 seconds
min. 1 minute 50 seconds

Test 2:

All 8000 documents exported using following options:

- All documents in view
- No sorting or grouping
- Normal export
- Attached template (Integra 4 Notes)

8000 documents with 20 fields into Excel:
max. 2 minutes 40 seconds
min. 1 minute 20 seconds

Test 3:

11 documents out of 8000 documents exported using following options:

- All documents in view
- Full-text filter condition
- No sorting or grouping
- Normal export
- Attached template (Integra 4 Notes)

11 out of 8000 documents with 20 fields into Excel:
max. 15 seconds
min. 10 seconds

The test results will obviously depend on the field contents, but we would not anticipate a great variation in results.
